Seeing how I rarely update my journal... this post will stare me in the face every time I visit my dA page n' motivate me to get this stuff done... worked pretty well for 2013!
Some resolutions for 2014:
* Draw pieces with backgrounds, animals, objects, multiple characters, and from perspectives I don't normally do. Take myself out of my artistic comfort zone.
* Do some big projects for myself. Something that will require multiple pieces or sequential art.
* Try to update or make some new OC's.
* Learn some goddam Flash n' animate some stuff!

2013 Resolutions
2012 was a good year... not great... maybe a 7 overall on a scale of 1 - 10. Though in the art category I'd probably rate it at a 4... mostly due to a lack of artistic growth and several creative slumps during the year.
So I figured I'd try to set some resolutions for 2013:
* Try to learn some new shading/color styles and incorporate them into my work.
* Draw pieces with backgrounds, animals, objects, multiple characters, and from perspectives I don't normally do. Take myself out of my artistic comfort zone.
* Do some big projects for myself. Something that will require multiple pieces or sequential art.
* Start doing commissions on d
Drawing Tablet Recommendations
I've been using an old WACOM 6x8 Graphite for a decade now and I've been looking to make an upgrade. I'll be buying a new Mac in the next couple of months and would like to have a nice new tablet for my Adobe CS applications.
Any tables you'd recommend I purchase?
Random thoughts...
So I haven't posted in me journal here for awhile... and I'm coming up short on stuff to write about... so here are some random thoughts...
I've been in a rut art-wise... I've been trying to bust out of the 'single character on a blank background' habit that has plagued my gallery... but, man have I been bad at challenging myself. I really want to do some comics, but all attempts have ended in frustration. I keep plugging away though...
Other than that... does anyone know how to set deviantART browser settings so I can filter out certain subject matter?
I've really been getting into football as of late... I guess it is fair to say I'm a
Coloring Lines
Just wanted to ask anyone who'd know...
Are there any good tutorials on how to effectively use several different color for line art?
I'm aware of how to do it several ways in Photoshop, I just didn't know if there were any pointers out there of how to make it look good. In most of my work I keep the line art black or some other dark color, but I've seen several artists here on dA make the line art several different colors and gradients for a most awesome effect... something I'd love to have help achieving myself.
Know any tips?
